A few Great Falls Special Olympic athletes gathered with our Central students today. This was an opportunity for our students to unify and support these athletes. The Special Olympic athletes shared some of their accomplishments and their favorite sports. After the sharing time, students and staff from Central brought spare change to help out the Special Olympic athletes. Our donation to "Project Unify" was over $500 and counting.
Special Olympics Project UNIFY is a school-based program that uses sports and leadership programs to activate young people to develop school communities where all youth are agents of change – fostering respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities. Our time together ended with our students giving a special blessing to the athletes.
